An anchor on China’s state-run TV network has accidentally declared
the Philippines a part of China, in an embarrassing gaffe
as tensions between the two nations run high.
中國的國營電視網意外宣布菲律賓是中國的一部分

The presenter apparently meant to say that Huangyan Island —
known in the Philippines as the Scarborough Shoal,
and claimed by Taiwan — is part of Chinese territory.

Viewers joked in online - postings that the presenter’s
nationalistic fervor led to her mistake.
