Wang Chien-ming tossed six innings of shutout ball and
Peng “Chia Chia” Cheng-min homered on a two-RBI effort
as Taiwan defeated Australia 4-1 at the Taichung
Intercontinental Baseball Stadium yesterday afternoon
to win the opener of Pool B play in the first round of
the World Baseball Classic.

It was the first game that Wang had played in Taiwan in more than 10 years,
and the former New York Yankees ace was at his very best as he silenced
the Aussie hitters .

    這是王建民10年來在台灣第一場比賽

        這位前紐約洋基隊的王牌

     投出好球  他讓澳洲擊球手沒法發揮。







“Getting ahead of the hitters was very important for me, then it becomes
a matter of keeping them off-balance because they are behind in the count,”
a soft-spoken Wang said after the game.

   說話輕聲細語的王建民在比賽結束後說：

      ”領先打擊者是非常重要的，
 
   讓他們失去平衡，然後他們只是一路追趕。
